Images of Vellore

This picture was taken by me last year in Vellore. I was taking my daughter to school on a bicycle (at about 8:30 AM), and at Katpadi road and Kangeyanallur road junction I saw a young boy working when in fact it is illegal in India to engage young children for employment. I went home and brought my camera to capture this image.

Irony of this image is at the right hand corner of it. There's an adult woman (with a toe ring referring to a married woman) handing out a spade to a young boy who had to dig trenches to lay telephone lines. Red stone on the top of the image with inscription "OFC" refers to Optic Fiber Cable. Proximity of the trench being so close to the stone suggests that the work carried out perhaps belong to the government. Click on the image to see the details.
