Why retirement in Vellore makes sense

For retirees there’s nothing major than to decide where to spend their retirement years. There are various factors to consider but the most important of all is the healthcare. There are several advantages of considering living in the city of Vellore.

Good healthcare facilities: Country’s largest tertiary level single hospital is Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMC & H). It caters to every aspect of healthcare ranging from out patient services to trauma care to super specialties. CMC & H is a mission hospital that is been in existence for the past 108 years and highest ethical standards are what it is known for.

Affordable cost of living: Vellore is a district Headquarter (seat) and all the district administrative services are located in Vellore. There are many tourist attractions also in Velore but the cost of living is still very affordable.

Easy accessibility: City itself is not very complicated to maneuver and it is very well networked by city buses (maximum fare to travel anywhere is 4 rupees) and autos extensively. You need not own transportation if that’s something you’re not interested and can still manage. Travelling from Vellore to other cities also is very easy. Vellore is situated on Chennai-Bangalore road highway and Kanyakumari-New Delhi rail network. Chennai (formerly Madras) is 3 hours by road and 2 hours by train, IT capital of India – Bangalore is 3.5 hours by road and train. Nearest international airports are in Chennai and Bangalore.

People: Vellore district has 70% literacy rate. People are very well educated and friendly.
