Welcome to “Nakkas”

“Nakkas” is a Tamilnadu state government approved home for the Bed & Breakfast services in the city of Vellore. This home underwent a due process of application to the government, police investigation and home inspection by the tourism department before it was granted approval. We are privileged that our house has been chosen to showcase our rich culture to the guests we serve.

About us:

We both have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (also known as Physical Therapy) from the Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore. Our destiny took us to work in the US for 14 years and then we felt the calling to serve our fellow brethren in India so we have relocated to India in 2006. Now we operate a small orphanage in Vellore mostly caring for girls. We have two daughters. We are very familiar with the Indian and western cultures along with their food habits. We both are proficient (read, write and speak) in three different Indian languages namely Hindi, Tamil and Telug apart from English.

After our relocation, we built a house for ourselves in 2007 in Gandhinagar, Vellore. It is an independent house with a compound wall all around the house. Gandhinagar is one of the modern neighborhoods in town located in the central part of the city. My house is accessible to banks, post office, police station, bus stop, eateries, and shopping areas by foot. We love our home and our neighborhood and we are determined to make your stay a memorable one too.

Facilities available:

• Spacious non-AC room with a queen size bed (US size) in a beautiful cot with head and foot boards. It has an attached bath and toilet. Room also is fitted with shuttered shelves and a long mirror in a separate room (attached to your bed room) where you can keep your luggage.
• 24 hour hot water through solar water heating system
• 24 hour uninterrupted power supply through UPS.
• Broadband internet (for a fee)
• Hair dryer, iron and foldable ironing table will be provided upon request.
• Covered parking for one four wheeler.
• We subscribe to two Indian national newspapers namely “The Hindu” and “Economic Times”. You’re more than welcome to read them in the living room.
• Breakfast of your choice from the menu is included in the price. If you like to have other meals provided, it can be arranged upon request.
• Laundry services can be provide for a fee
• Car rental can be arranged through a third party.

• Railway station: 2.5 KM (City bus number 1 or 2 will take you in less than 10 minutes for Rs. 2/-)
• New Bus stand: 2.5 KM (City bus number 1 or 2 will take you in less than 10 minutes for Rs. 2/-)
• Christian Medical College & Hospital: 4 KM (City bus number 1 or 2 will take you in less than 15 minutes for Rs. 3/-)

Tariff:

INR 2200/- per day (inclusive of all taxes and breakfast for two guests).  Rs. 400/- for an extra guest. Check in and checkout time is 12:00 hours. Tariff is subject to change and special offer for long stay is available. Nakkas reserve all rights.
